Position Summary

The Deli Clerk delivers exceptional customer service by greeting customers promptly, preparing orders accurately, and maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation. This role ensures an efficient, friendly, and welcoming deli experience.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:
• Greet customers promptly and offer assistance.
• Respond to inquiries courteously, efficiently, and professionally.
• Follow through on customer requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Promote products, upcoming events, and holiday offerings to drive sales.

Food Preparation & Handling:
• Accurately slice, weigh, package, and price meats, cheeses, and prepared foods.
• Prepare sandwiches according to recipes or customer specifications.
• Package grab-and-go items in appropriate containers.
• Operate deli slicers and equipment safely in accordance with guidelines.

Sanitation & Food Safety:
• Maintain product freshness and adhere to all food safety standards.
• Clean and sanitize deli slicers, display cases, counters, and work areas.
• Organize and stock deli displays to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards.

Operations & Team Support:
• Assist in achieving sales goals through product knowledge and suggestive selling.
• Support merchandising, stocking, and general store maintenance.
• Collaborate with management and team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned to support deli operations, customer service, food preparation, and overall department efficiency.

Important Requirement:
• Candidates must be 18 years or older to be considered for employment with Eddie’s.

Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications:
• Prior deli or food service experience preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of retail sales and safe food handling practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional and results-oriented approach.

Salary:
• $15 per hour.
• Compensation is based on years of relevant experience, demonstrated customer service ability, and overall ability to multitask.
