McCormick's Montreal Steak Seasoning or your simple salt and pepper
1 tbs. olive oil
steak of choice (USDA Choice Strip Steak recommended)
1. Set out your steak about 30 minutes prior to grilling. Coat both sides in McCormick's Montreal Steak Seasoning (Bobby’s favorite; pick your seasoning of choice and add as much or as little as you like! Or, keep things simple—you can never go wrong with just salt & pepper).
2. Brush olive oil on the grill grates.
3. Get your grill hot. Place your seasoned steak down at a diagonal angle from the grates of the grill for a 30-60 second sear, flip to opposite angle diagonal grill marks for 30-60 seconds.
4. Lower the heat. Cook an additional 7-8 minutes per side (for a medium rare 1" thick steak).
